Medan, 11 July 2024, Murni Teguh Hospital (Murni Teguh) and Icon Cancer Centre (Icon) has signed a shared care collaboration agreement to improve cancer care access and outcomes for patients in Indonesia.
It sees Icon’s deep medical expertise integrated within Murni Tenguh’s experienced healthcare network in Indonesia to provide timely, personalised care to patients, managed by Icon and Murni Teguh doctors.
The collaboration also enables Indonesians to access prompt cancer services in Icon Singapore and Malaysia (Penang) through telemedicine consultations and diagnostic tests including PET/CT, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and genetic tests, vital in cancer diagnosis and treatment and reducing the cancer treatment waiting times.
Patients will benefit from Icon’s deep expertise in multidisciplinary oncology care, including Icon’s wide network of medical oncologists, clinical oncologists, paediatric haematologist-oncologist, radiation oncologists, haematologists and visiting surgical oncologists (based in Singapore and Penang), coordinated by a dedicated concierge service. Murni Teguh’s President Director of PT. Murni Sadar Tbk, DR. dr. Mutiara, MHA, MKT, said the agreement had positive impact for patients and community.
Besides the enhancement of clinical care, this partnership also aims to bring forth a positive impact to the community by reducing the cancer care gap, raising more awareness about cancer and providing additional support to patients and families though educational initiatives and outreach programmes.
Icon Asean and Hong Kong CEO, Ms Serena Wee, said the collaboration brought more care to people, closer to home.
We are honoured to work with Murni Teguh to provide patients in Indonesia with more options for cancer treatments. This shared care collaboration reflects our commitment to delivering world-class cancer care, to as many people as possible, as close to home as possible. Together, we can positively impact the communities we serve and push the boundaries of cancer care in Indonesia.
