Dr. Nurul Iman binti Fathi is a Clinical Oncologist experienced in treating a wide range of cancers, with special interests in breast, gynaecological, liver (hepatocellular), and head and neck cancers, as well as advanced radiotherapy techniques.
She provides comprehensive cancer care using modern radiotherapy techniques such as Intensity-Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT), Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT), and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT), as well as brachytherapy for gynaecological cancers and systemic therapies including chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy.
She has served in various roles within the Malaysian public healthcare system, including as a Clinical Oncologist at Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Hospital Sultan Ismail, Johor Bahru. She has also contributed as a visiting oncologist to multiple hospitals across the country, supporting oncology services in both urban and regional settings.
Dr. Iman has played an active role in multidisciplinary cancer care, leading and contributing to multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussions across tumour sites such as oral cavity, hepatocellular, lung, colorectal, breast, and upper gastrointestinal cancers at both national and state levels.
She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Manipal University, before pursuing her Master of Clinical Oncology at the University of Malaya. She completed her specialist training across several major institutions, including University Malaya Medical Centre, Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhris, Institut Kanser Negara, and Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Iman is actively involved in research and clinical trials. She has contributed as a sub-investigator and principal investigator in several international studies involving lung, colorectal, breast, and melanoma cancers, reflecting her commitment to advancing cancer treatment and improving patient outcomes.
Dr. Iman is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, personalised cancer care in a structured and supportive clinical environment. She is fluent in English and Bahasa Melayu.
